Worship Services
Every Sunday morning at 11:00am, we have worship service with organ, piano music, and hymns sung with the Chancel Choir. Occasionally, we are blessed with special music provided by the Joyful Sounds Youth Choir or other special guests. A children's sermon is provided early during the worship service. At the end of the sermon, each child is able to go to the nursery or sit with his/her family during the remainder of the service.
Worship services also take forms other than the weekly gathering on Sunday mornings. We have services on other occasions which reflect the life of our congregation and community.
The Presbyterian Church observes two sacraments which constitute more than mere worship. They were instituted by Jesus to symbolize or confer grace.
Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and special emphasis occasions such as World Wide Communion, Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and Easter. For those who are not physically able to leave their homes to attend the worship service, communion is carried to them so that even they will be able to participate in the life of the Church. All the baptized faithful, including children, are welcomed to participate in the communion service.
Baptism ~ Infant Baptism is a covenant between the parents and the congregation to educate and nurture the child in the Christian faith toward that day which the child will make a profession of faith. Older children and adults who have never been baptized and have confessed their faith may receive baptism. All baptisms are done in consultation with the pastor and the church session.
