Presbyterian Women

The Henry Memorial Presbyterian Women group is a member of the Presbyterian Women of the Presbyterian Church USA. Their purpose is to encourage nurturing of spiritual growth through bible study and prayer, to increase awareness of the needs of the community and the world, and be sensitive to the needs of women and all members of the Church. All women of the Church are members of Presbyterian Women whether active or inactive. There are two circles:

  • First Sunday of each month at 9:00am before the morning worship service
  • Second Tuesday of each month at 9:30am

The location of each meeting is announced in the worship service bulletin and newsletter. Projects include Family Night Celebrations, decorating the church for holidays, mission projects both locally and worldwide, prayer chains, Bible studies, and a prayer shawl ministry, among others.

Presbyterian Men

The Presbyterian Men meet quarterly and serve a hearty breakfast to the entire church at 9:00am before the morning worship service. Upcoming breakfast meetings are:

  • April 8, 2007 ~ Folliwng the Easter Sunday Sunrise Service
  • May 27, 2007 ~ Pentecost Sunday

The Presbyterian Men also host an annual pancake supper on Fat Tuesday as a kickoff to the season of Lent.

Youth Activities

Children's Sunday Night (CSN) ~ CSN is for children in kindergarten thruogh 5th grade, and meets from 5:00-6:00pm on Sunday nights (except Sabbath Sunday, the last Sunday of the month). Children will have fun, fellowship and even some learning!

Mid/Senior Highs ~ This group for Middle and Senior High youths meets on Sunday evenings at 6:00pm, except Sabbath Sunday.  During the Autumn of 2006, the group planned a canoe trip on the Flint River.

While these programs are the backbone of our youth program, the Savannah Presbytery offers activities at varous age levels that might include summer camps, youth conferences, ski trips, and much more.

Wednesday Night Suppers

Our church family regularly celebrates our unity and love for each other. Smetimes the fare is a covered dish supper and other times, we take advantage of the talents of local caterers. Watch the worship service bulletin, the monthly calendar, and the Lighted Lamp for the scheduled meals.

Special Activities

We have many additional activities for our members. We have a very special group of knitters and needleworkers, Heartstrings, which meets twice monthly to knit preemie caps and booties, prayer shawls, and items for our troops. This knitting ministry has reached worldwide to offer their prayers and handiwork to people around the world. You don't have to know how to knit--or crochet--If you would like to join. We have many experts in the groups who are eager to teach. Heartstrings meets every other Tuesday evening, 7:00-8:30pm.

We also have a very talented group of members who are willing to share their knowledge with other members and the community at large. In February 2007, had a Bread Making class that was a huge success, so other classes will be coming soon.
